San Francisco-based enterprise agentic AI infrastructure operator AIsa has officially announced the successful completion of its seed extension funding round. The latest financing effort welcomed significant participation from strategic investors Tether Capital and HIVEN, bringing the startup’s cumulative capital raised to more than $9 million since its inception.
The inclusion of Tether Capital and HIVEN expands an already robust roster of high-profile backers supporting AIsa’s technological vision. These new strategic investors join a diverse group of previous supporters, including tech giant Alibaba, Tribe Capital, Sumitomo Corporation, Draper Associates, and Saison Capital, alongside other prominent participants in the venture ecosystem.
The fresh injection of capital arrives at a critical juncture for the artificial intelligence industry, as businesses increasingly move beyond basic chat-based applications and look toward autonomous agents capable of executing complex workflows, accessing external data, and performing transactional tasks on behalf of human users. However, navigating the modern digital landscape presents distinct hurdles for these emerging systems.
"Enterprise AI agents need trusted information, useful tools and a governed way to transact," said Jordan Liu, founder and chief executive officer of the San Francisco-based start-up, in a statement released on Friday. "Our vision is to build the infrastructure that enables agents to discover, access and pay for resources globally, while giving enterprises full control over permissions, spending and transactions."
The core challenge that AIsa seeks to resolve stems from the fragmented nature of current digital service providers, software integrations, and billing systems. In production environments, these disjointed elements often make it remarkably difficult for enterprise AI agents to operate effectively at scale. Without a unified infrastructure layer, organizations struggle to grant autonomous agents the autonomy they need while simultaneously maintaining stringent security, cost oversight, and compliance standards.
To address these operational bottlenecks, AIsa’s proprietary infrastructure connects enterprise agents directly to a wide array of external data sources, advanced artificial intelligence search engines, foundational models, application programming interfaces (APIs), software tools, and specialized industry services. By seamlessly combining governed access controls with precise usage metering, automated billing, and secure financial settlement mechanisms, the company aims to establish a reliable foundation for enterprise-grade autonomous operations.
The participation of Tether Capital highlights a broader strategic alignment between enterprise AI infrastructure and programmable digital money. Tether Capital operates as the independent investment arm of Tether, the prominent issuer of the USDT stablecoin. According to the company, the investment arm systematically deploys capital drawn directly from Tether’s profits and excess reserves to foster innovation across multiple high-growth technological sectors.
This investment strategy was previously underscored in June 2024, when Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino indicated that the venture group expected to deploy at least $1 billion into various global deals spanning advanced technologies, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology over the coming years.
Expanding upon this aggressive investment mandate, Tether noted that its financial commitment to AIsa fits a distinct and deliberate pattern. The move directly follows Tether’s previous strategic investment in NEURA Robotics. That particular partnership notably included comprehensive plans to integrate Tether’s Wallet Development Kit, an advanced technological framework designed to enable physical machines and autonomous devices to run artificial intelligence locally and execute financial transactions safely within strictly predefined operational limits.
By backing AIsa, Tether continues to broaden its strategic footprint within the rapidly evolving intersection of artificial intelligence, automated machine-to-machine communications, and blockchain-powered programmable payments. As autonomous agents become more prevalent across global supply chains, corporate administration, and digital service delivery, the demand for secure, standardized settlement layers is expected to intensify correspondingly.
With its seed extension round successfully finalized and a strong coalition of global investors firmly in its corner, AIsa is positioned to further develop its infrastructure platform, scale its engineering operations, and expand its market reach as organizations worldwide prepare for the widespread deployment of enterprise-grade agentic artificial intelligence.
