The newly listed shares of XRP-focused treasury company Evernorth Holdings made a notable entrance onto the public markets on Monday, jumping as much as 5% during their initial trading session on the Nasdaq stock exchange, according to market data provided by Yahoo Finance. The debut marks a significant milestone for the firm, which positions itself as a specialized corporate vehicle holding large quantities of the XRP token, allowing traditional equity investors indirect exposure to digital assets through a regulated public exchange structure.
Coinciding with its successful stock market launch, Evernorth announced earlier on Monday that it has appointed former Coinbase Asset Management Co-Chief Investment Officer Hugo Jeandesboz to serve as its new chief investment officer. In his new leadership role, Jeandesboz will oversee the company’s comprehensive treasury strategy. This responsibilities will encompass strategic treasury allocation, rigorous liquidity management, and the active, yield-generating management of Evernorth’s substantial XRP holdings, according to an official corporate announcement released on Monday.
The firm’s business model relies heavily on putting its digital asset reserves to work rather than simply holding them passively on a balance sheet. Evernorth deploys its vast XRP holdings to earn additional income through decentralized finance, commonly known as DeFi, yield strategies. By engaging with these on-chain protocols, the company aims to generate recurring revenue streams from its crypto assets, setting a distinct precedent for how publicly traded corporate treasuries can interact with decentralized financial infrastructure to maximize shareholder value.
The public listing and executive appointment follow a decisive corporate milestone achieved earlier in the month. On Oct. 2, shareholders of the blank-check special purpose acquisition company Armada Acquisition Corp. II overwhelmingly approved a definitive plan to combine the company with Evernorth, paving the way for the stock ticker transition and subsequent Nasdaq debut. Through this business combination, the newly formed entity expects to hold an estimated 473 million XRP tokens. Based on prevailing market valuations, these digital assets are currently valued at approximately $657 million. Company executives have highlighted that this massive accumulation of capital makes Evernorth the largest publicly traded XRP treasury company in the world.
While Evernorth begins its journey as a publicly traded entity, the underlying digital asset supporting its treasury continues to experience robust market activity. The XRP token itself was recently changing hands at $1.39 apiece, backed by a substantial trading volume of $1.48 billion changing hands over the preceding 24-hour period, according to data compiled by Coingecko. At this price point, XRP commands a total market capitalization of roughly $87.8 billion, cementing its position as the fifth-largest cryptocurrency in the global digital asset ecosystem by market value.
