Aviva Investors, the prominent asset management arm of UK-based insurance giant Aviva, has officially launched a tokenized share class of its Sterling (GBP) Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).

The strategic development brings a tokenized share class of the company’s largest fund—which boasts approximately 22 billion British pounds, or roughly $29.4 billion, in assets under management—onto the XRPL network. According to a joint announcement released by Ripple and Aviva, this integration empowers investors to participate in the massive fund utilizing a modern, tokenized format.
This rollout represents a significant milestone for the asset manager as its second tokenized fund to date. It follows closely on the heels of Aviva’s previous expansion in July, when the firm brought its USD Liquidity Fund to the XRPL network. With both offerings now operational on the blockchain, Aviva highlighted that it has established itself as one of Europe’s leading asset management providers of tokenized money market funds, holding a combined total of about 86 million pounds invested across its two tokenized share classes.

To demonstrate immediate institutional commitment to the new financial product, Aviva seeded the Sterling Liquidity Fund’s fresh tokenized share class with an initial investment of 50 million pounds, as confirmed by the announcement. This latest expansion is not an isolated initiative; rather, it forms a core component of a broader, ongoing collaboration between Aviva and Ripple. The partnership is explicitly designed to introduce a growing portfolio of tokenized traditional financial funds to the XRP Ledger over time, bridging the gap between conventional institutional asset management and distributed ledger technology.
The integration further highlights the evolving utility of the XRP Ledger within the institutional finance sector. According to real-time metrics provided by RWA.xyz, the XRP Ledger currently ranks as the ninth-largest blockchain network for tokenized assets. The platform hosts approximately $642 million in total distributed real-world asset value, supported by a network of roughly 2,900 unique holders. As major global financial institutions like Aviva continue to explore and adopt blockchain-based tokenization to streamline operations, enhance liquidity, and expand investor access, networks like the XRPL are increasingly becoming the infrastructure of choice for multi-billion-pound institutional funds.
