Alsa Completes Seed Extension Round with Tether Capital and HIVEN to Scale Enterprise Agentic AI Infrastructure

Alsa, an innovative enterprise agentic artificial intelligence infrastructure operator, has officially announced the successful completion of its seed extension funding round. The latest financing phase was bolstered by strategic investments from Tether Capital and HIVEN, marking a significant milestone for the San Francisco-based startup as it seeks to address the complex operational hurdles faced by modern enterprise AI deployments.

The successful seed extension round brings the total cumulative funding raised by Alsa to more than $9 million. The two newly announced participants join a robust and diverse group of early-stage backers, including major global technology and investment players such as Alibaba, Tribe Capital, Sumitomo Corporation, Draper Associates, and Saison Capital, among others. This widespread international backing underscores the growing urgency and market demand for reliable infrastructure capable of supporting autonomous artificial intelligence systems within corporate environments.

According to Jordan Liu, the founder and chief executive officer of Alsa, the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence has shifted enterprise focus from simple chat interfaces to autonomous agents capable of performing complex, multi-step workflows. However, these systems currently lack the foundational plumbing required to operate securely and efficiently at scale.

“Enterprise AI agents need trusted information, useful tools and a governed way to transact,” Liu said in a statement released on Friday. “Our vision is to build the infrastructure that enables agents to discover, access and pay for resources globally, while giving enterprises full control over permissions, spending and transactions.”

The core challenge Alsa seeks to solve stems from the highly fragmented nature of existing digital service providers, software integrations, and traditional billing systems. In its current state, enterprise AI agents attempting to operate effectively in production environments often encounter severe friction when trying to access diverse external tools or manage recurring operational expenses at scale. Without a unified layer to handle these interactions, businesses struggle to deploy autonomous agents safely without risking unexpected costs or security vulnerabilities.

To bridge this gap, Alsa’s proprietary infrastructure connects enterprise-grade artificial intelligence agents to a wide array of external data sources, advanced AI search engines, foundational models, application programming interfaces, software tools, and specialized industry services. Crucially, the platform combines this governed access with comprehensive usage metering, precise billing, and secure settlement capabilities, allowing corporations to maintain strict oversight over their autonomous software workforce.

The inclusion of Tether Capital as a strategic investor highlights a broader industry trend convergence between cutting-edge artificial intelligence infrastructure and programmable digital currencies. Tether Capital operates as the independent investment arm of Tether, the prominent issuer of the USDT stablecoin. According to the company, Tether Capital deploys capital directly from Tether’s accumulated profits and excess reserves to foster innovation in high-potential technology sectors.

The investment strategy aligns closely with statements made by Tether leadership in mid-2024. In June of that year, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino indicated that the venture group expected to deploy at least $1 billion into strategic deals spanning advanced technology, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology.

Expanding on its rationale for the Alsa investment, Tether noted that the partnership follows a clear pattern of supporting technologies that merge automation with programmable financial rails. This strategy was previously highlighted by Tether’s investment in NEURA Robotics. That collaboration included explicit plans to integrate Tether’s Wallet Development Kit, an initiative designed to allow physical machines and advanced robots to run artificial intelligence locally while executing financial transactions securely within predefined operational limits and budgets.

As artificial intelligence agents transition from experimental pilot projects into core components of enterprise operations, the demand for secure, governed, and interoperable infrastructure is expected to intensify. With its newly expanded war chest and backing from prominent global investors like Tether Capital, Alibaba, and Sumitomo Corporation, Alsa is positioned to play a critical role in shaping how autonomous agents discover, access, and pay for the resources they need to operate in the global economy.
